Kaohsiung's Shoushan Zoo is set to introduce a new American bison and a group of 11 meerkats to its collection before the summer. The new bison will join the zoo's current bison, Nana, to provide companionship and support her development. The meerkats will add to the existing mob near the zoo's entrance, enhancing the visitor experience. The zoo, which reopened in December 2022 after renovations, has been actively expanding its animal population and improving its facilities, attracting 860,000 visitors last year.
