The Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) staged a second night of protests in Taipei against an ongoing investigation into alleged signature fraud on recall petitions. KMT leaders, including Chairman Eric Chu, protested near the Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office, calling the investigation a political suppression by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). The protest was moved to comply with the Assembly and Parade Act. Meanwhile, DPP members criticized Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an for joining the protest, alleging he abused his authority and influenced law enforcement.
